Pre-Release Footage #3 released!


Pre-Release Footage #3 has been finally released! Here're some things that have changed from Footage #2 to #3!

  • Added the 3rd level!
    Implemented the player having gravity even when not jumping!
  • Refactored and improved the code some more!
  • Moved the moving hazards in the first level half a chunk closer to the stationary ones.
  • Moved the swinging door leading from the 2nd level into the 3rd from the far right to the middle of its walls (Hopefully, you know what I mean).
  • The aforementioned swinging door is now locked even before the classroom minigame starts, if the player hasn't beat its level.
  • Fixed some bugs, such as the stamina increasing even when it is full, outside (caused by a bad refactor attempt in The Great Refactor) and the wipe save file confirmation popup still being there if the player exits the pause screen but doesn't press the "No" button.
  • The classroom minigame no longer displays the answer when the player gets the corresponding question wrong, promoting them to figure it out on their own!
  • Hazards spawned in the 2nd and 3rd levels now disappear when they go out of bounds, to improve performance! (The squares don't, because of a bug. It'll be fixed later)
  • Added asynchronous scene loading!
  • Started working on settings for sound and music volume. Not much development on it, but still.
  • Changed the version name of the pre-alpha that's going to be released to "V0.0.5".
  • Maybe but unlikely some forgotten changes (My older brother didn't start documenting changes right away because of laziness and he thought that he wouldn't forget them)

Please note that the pit in the 3rd level uses placeholder textures. The game also currently checks for if the player should jump by shooting a raycast from the middle of their collider, not checking if any part of the bottom is touching something.

My older brother is now going to work on Baldi's Basics Classic V1.0 but for masochists, and after he's done, he's going to take a break on working on either (Note: He may work on this one from time to time during the break, but I don't think the time spent will be long enough for me to consider this not on hold) until he feels like it. He thinks it's going to be around 1/17/24. When he finishes the break, he'll work on V0.3.6 of that mod, then Pre-Release Footage #4 of this fangame.
